Event Review: Garden City Mākete
Leah, the Event Organiser of the @gardencitymakete in Christchurch, warmly welcomed us to the @milton.st.substation where her market is held multiple times a year. Her excellent branding and social media presence have attracted a loyal following, and she expressed her delight in seeing more attendees actively adding her events to their calendars and inviting their friends to join them. The Garden City Mākete, which is made more accessible to guests due to it's opening hours of 5-8pm on Friday evening and throughout the day on Saturday saw over 2500 visitors through. With 50 + stallholders the market offered a wide range of homemade products, many of which were made from reused materials and with under 5 stallholders using plastic packaging. The 5+ food and bar vendors catered for all dietary requirements and were placed in the scenic courtyard under festoon lights on a beautiful evening. The local stallholders were supportive of bringing guests into the city. Entry to the market is free and the event layout allows able guests to enjoy two levels of shopping with the ability to purchase or bring their own tote bag to carry their new items. When RAD reviews wedding and event plans and implementation we always share the positives publicly and give the organiser the 'work ons' privately.Leah was stoked to get our feedback, which naturally created her marketing plan for her next event and by taking our feedback on board we believe her next event will be even more successful and benefit her guests, stallholders and the planet greatly.
